Nestled amidst the lush green nature, Extension Training Centre, Srikalahasti is one of the oldest Training Institutes in Andhra Pradesh which was established in 1955 in a sprawling 37 acres area. Retaining its historic charm and image, it has managed to embrace progressive ideologies and systems to impart quality trainings to help clientele cope with the advancing rural arena.
ETC’s location at Srikalahsti has great prominence. Srikalahasti is abode of Lord Shiva ( one of the Panchabhuta Lingas (vayu Linga)), home for world renowned art form ‘Kalamkari’, traditional wood carvings and very close(40 kms) to world famous pilgrim centre Tirupati. Without saying it goes, why participants find it as most desirable location not alone for trainings but also a rejuvenation from stressful schedules.
It is located on Puthalapattu – Naidupet High way of Chittoor District and connects to National High Way -16( Chennai to Kolkata via Guntur-Vijayawada-Rajahmundry-Visakhapatnam) at 28 kms distance. Srikalahasti Railway station is connecting with Guduru Junction to meet Northern, Konkan, Eastern Railway junctions and Renigunta Junction to meet Southern Railway junctions so that from Sri kalahasti the Train Transport throughout India can be found as convenient.
The Extension Training Centre is located at a distance of 26 km to the International Airport of Tirupathi and at a distance of 109 km to the International Airport of Chennai. Hence it is very convenient to travel by air for National and International participants .
Being one of the 3 Regional Training Centres of APSIRD& PR ( Andhra Pradesh State Institute of Rural Development and Panchayath raj) it is serving four Rayalaseema Districts(Chittoor, Kurnool, Ananthapur and Y.S.R Kadapa). Extension Training Centre is an institution serving the capacity building needs of functionaries, stakeholders and Elected Representatives of Panchayat Raj Institutions(PRIs ) through various training programmes to meet the objectives of local self governance for sustainable rural prosperity and social Justice. In addition to this ETC is conducting NIRDPR’s (National Institute of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj) off-campus trainings and workshops. According to the recent major changes in Grama Panchayth administration in Andhra Pradesh now focus is on Trainings to Functional Assistants of Grama Sachivalayams. The Extension Training Centre also provides logistics to conduct other Departmental trainings (Revenue , Survey and Social Welfare etc.,) according to availability and cost norms as prescribed by APSIRD&PR.
ETC Srikalahasthi is one of the best preferred choices of State Government and NIRD PR among South Indian States for conducting various State level and National Level workshops.
